Essay about The Golem What You Should Know About Science

Reading the Golem was really challenging and enthusiastic, mainly at the thorough, and, for the most part, lucid and relevant approach they look at real situations and cases as the principal content of the Golem. The book is simple and straightforward, addressed for the citizen living in a technological society, and the writing is generally clear, concise and to the point. The Golem addresses the idea of how scientist and sociologist do it, and debate within each other in descriptive and normality, in other words, controversial science. It consisted of (7) seven controversial cases of experimental science on the frontier of research and aims to solve the problem of how to present science to the citizen living in such a way that one will†¦show more content†¦One of which was the discovery of a new form of brain peptide research that had more easily measurable and easily agreed about effects. In chapter 2, in addressing to the question on page 107, The question is, will they gain the attention of the scientific community? My opinion is no. Here, the question is really depends on whether he or she or someone else will produce better explanations of the problems, with better experiment data and less variance. Lots of scientists and sociologist are still working on the problem, and there are new theoretical and experimental ideas. Thus, may all add up to something, or may not depending upon whether we are clever enough to find a way to untangle and solve the problems. As a conclusion, I am in the eccentric stance of agreeing with the message of the Golem. I found that reading the book, agreeing and disagreeing with them pushed me into a useful thinking and rethinking exercise, since both agreements and disagreements broadened my view of subjects I thought I knew. This book portrays a serious attempt to address the problem of communicating scientific and technological issues to wider audience.
